Some might find it odd for a County to take ownership of a bridge in order to support trail building initiatives. But, the fact is, it happens all the time both in our region and beyond. Allegheny County has taken similar steps on multiple occasions. And Beaver County itself is no stranger to owning bridges. In fact, Beaver County currently owns more than 50 bridges across the region.
Today we are providing a list of bridges already owned by Beaver County, demonstrating not only that such a practice is possible but also commonplace. It turns out that owning numerous similar structures actually creates economies of scale, driving down the overall cost of things like maintenance and insurance.
Take a look at the list and see which of these bridges you use regularly. Then, be sure visit the campaign page and sign the petition. Together we can save trails in Beaver County and lead our region into the future.
