Join RiverWise and Chatham University during the summer of 2022 for a hands-on educational experience in sustainability and community development. The Summer Sustainability Institute consists of two related components, one held in Beaver County, the other on the Campus of Chatham University.
The first half of the program consists of 6 weekly meetings held at various locations around Beaver County. These meetings will introduce students to exciting and innovative organizations and initiatives in Beaver County that exist at the intersection of community and sustainability.
Following this 6-week, on-site introduction in Beaver County, students will spend a week living on campus at Chatham University where they will participate with students from around the country in Chatham’s Sustainable Leadership Academy (SLA).
Intended to provide both a local and global introduction to the issues of sustainability and leadership, this program offers a unique opportunity for students who wish to become more aware of how to lead change in their community and beyond.
