Did you know that taking ownership of the Black’s Run Bridge will pave the way for the construction of a 14-mile loop of bike and walking trail? This section of trail will begin under the Ambridge Bridge, travel north through the Aliquippa Industrial Park and will run adjacent to the Ohio River all the way into the Monaca Industrial Park. Along the way, the trail will travel just .2 miles from the Franklin Avenue Park as well as downtown Monaca.
This week we have been demonstrating how trail connectivity creates synergy with communities and public amenities. So, today, we’re sharing these conceptual drawings of the Franklin Avenue Park in Aliquippa, which would serve as a natural starting point, rest stop, and end point for users of the trail. As you can see, saving trails in Beaver County is about way more than any one specific project — it’s about creating first rate amenities, interconnected communities, and robust economies that are accessible to all.
